"Do not worry about Yesterday, for it is in the past.
Do not worry about Today, for it is almost gone.
Do not worry about Tomorrow, for God is already there :)."

A bunch of us went to Creationfest 2006 for a day.  It was simply an unforgettable experience.  I loved worshipping God under the open sky, witnessing His presence among His creations.  We held hands with people we don't know and danced to the praise songs.  It is truly amazing how God brought people together for His glory :).

By the way, an update to my last entry....I went to the court for my traffic ticket and the policeman failed to appear, thus case dismissed.  Thanks to all of you who prayed for me :)

Have a blessed week, everyone!

Good music recommendations?? :)

Been working at Zoka the past couple days to catch up on work and such.  Been listening to the same songs on my Itune over and over and over.....any good music recommendations, anyone?
Got a cd recently.  Aqualung's "Strange & Beautiful".  Quite nice, actually.

Oh, and if you have some time this week and can pray for me...i'm going to the court on Th 9am to contest my ticket that I got back in April for my car accident..."inattentive driving", that's what the tix says.  Please pray for wisdom to say the right words (I get really nervous in front of Judges and such :P) and be at peace with whatever the judge rules.

:)  thanks in advance.

Faith and Race

"In 1955 a black Chicago teenager, Emmett Louis Till, 14, whistled at a Caucasian woman in Money, Miss. Several days later on August 27, 1995 Emmett disappeared.  He was eventually located on the bottom of a river wired to a factory fan. He had been beaten and shot in the head.  Roy Bryant and J. W. Milam, were tried for murder and acquitted by an all-white jury. They sold their story to Look magazine for $4,000. "Emmett had a stuttering problem when he had difficulty pronouncing certain words, so his mother taught him to whistle when he couldn't pronounce a word," said Roosevelt Crawford, a retired General Motors plant inspector. - Detroit News -- Mamie Mobley, Emmett's mother, had his coffin open at his funeral so people would know the extent of his injuries.
The Justice Department announced May 2004, this case would be reopened due to information uncovered in filmmaker Keith Beauchamp's PBS documentary The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till. NPR's Travis Smiley talks with, Beauchamp, Emmett's cousin Simeon Wright and trial attorney Raymond Brown."

My church is currently going through a 5-week study on faith and race.  Racism is such a sensitive subject to examine and I honestly have a hard time reading about Emmett and forgiving his killers.  I am excited to learn what others in my community have to say.  Hopefully they are much more forgiving than me.  :)

28.

28.

Yup, that's the age I'm turning as I sit here writing up this entry :)

Never really was fond of even numbers.  Always liked the 3, 5, 7 and 9s :)  not sure why.

But I'm sure it'll be a wonderful year :)  Ever since I moved away from home in 1996, I haven't had a chance to celebrate my birthday with my family and having bday always make me a bit sad.  But God has been so gracious to me and brought along many friends that serve as "family" for me here in Seattle :)  I truly believe that friends are God's way of caring for us.

My 28th year started off with a yummy 'surprise' dinner with the HF gals at downtown Kirkland, topped with a delicious Tiramisu covered with Espresso cocoa powder and a fun sleepover.

The celebration continued with many caring NG friends, organized by Dr. Julie Fu :)  Thai food, tea party and watching one of my favorite musical "Rent".  Sweet!

Maybe, afterall, 28 is not such a bad number :)

I really enjoyed watching "The Lake House."  It felt good to cry a bit and then smile upon the warmth that love brings.
Another bridal shower hosting mission accomplished.  It certainly felt good to see your close friend glow with joy and be really embarrassed opening up all those pink Victoria Secret boxes :P hehe....
